Steve working at his water jet, which he uses to cut out individual pieces of glass.
I’ve dabbled with different art media throughout my life, including oil painting and metal work, but I’ve found working with glass to be more in line with my engineering skills. The CAD drawings I make of my designs are converted to machine language that is read by the waterjet I use to cut the glass. Using the waterjet allows me to have the precision and control I need to create intricate detailed designs not possible with traditional glass cutting and shaping techniques. It also saves time and reduces scrap. I use the properties in glass to give the reactions and interactions I like to use in my bold designs, which range from nature scenes to geometric patterns, and from wall art to functional bowls.
