I enjoy making functional objects out of durable materials. Art you can use, so to speak.
I work primarily with clay, and my aesthetic trends minimalist. Clean lines and simple geometric shapes/patterns. This allows me to do more glaze experimentation, which is a never ending process of discovery that I thoroughly enjoy. I mix all of my glazes in-house from recipes I developed, or recipes tweaked from those doing pottery long before me.
I occasionally work with metal and wood, and find myself using all three materials in my studio to create functional heirlooms.
