Julia Lont is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer living and working in Corvallis, Oregon. She works by day as Assistant Art Director at Oregon State University’s College of Forestry. Evenings and weekends, though, she can often be found in her garage, busy with her inks, papers, and her antique, cast-iron printing press.
After purchasing an 1896 Chandler & Price platen letterpress in 2012, Julia started her printmaking venture, Blue Camas Press, and her prints and cards have become very popular in our local area, including as a perennial favorite feature of the Corvallis and Albany Farmers’ Market posters which she designs.

She creates her original artworks by carving linoleum blocks and printing these blocks by hand, using the letterpress.
She creates a variety of works on paper: cards, prints, tags, coasters, calendars, and other ephemera.
All Blue Camas Press products are printed by hand on the letterpress and not digitally reproduced. Most prints are open editions, though she does also produce some limited editions prints.
