David has worked as a photographer since graduating from photography school in 1980. His work has been published in the Los Angeles Times Magazine, Orion, Audubon, Nature Conservancy, Outdoor Photographer, Rangefinder and others. His photographs are in public and private collections including the Portland Museum of Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Harry Ransom Center for Photography, Bibleotheque Nationale and the Harry Stein Collection.
He lives with his wife Lea Bayles on ten forested acres in the foothills of the coast range of Oregon where he photographs and teaches at Kindred Wind Studio.
