From the simple beaded necklaces and earrings I made as a teenager to the semi-precious gemstone and silverwork that I create today, I never tire of the process. I enjoy each facet of creating one-of-a-kind jewelry: selecting a stone or other focal piece, planning the initial design, choosing the appropriate materials and techniques, doing the actual lapidary and metal work, revising (and sometimes repairing!) and the final finishing and polishing. While I continue to focus on integrating Holley Blue Agate and Silver in most of my pieces, I have also lately worked with fossil, Oregon Sunstones, coral, turquoise, basalt, leather and copper to create new designs as well as some of my traditional styles.
I appreciate the opportunity to be a guest artist in Laura Berman’s studio this year, along with Sally Ishikawa. Being a part of POST is a unique opportunity to work with a group of professional artists who challenge and inspire me. I look forward to meeting new visitors to the Philomath Open Studio Tour, and catching up with those I have met in years past.
Thank you for your support as you visit the individual studios that are part of this creative Art Tour!
