The current host artists select a limited number of new Philomath area host artists based on a variety of criteria, including how the location fits with other open studios, how the work compliments and expands the variety of the tour, accessibility and parking options, quality and quantity of your artwork, and ease of communication. Application does not guarantee acceptance, but we will contact you to discuss the possibilities. Whenever possible, we encourage participation in the tour prior to becoming a new host in order to learn about how it all works.
Individual hosts select guest artists based on a variety of criteria, including how their work compliments the work of the other artists at their studio and its suitability for the available space. Guests artists do not necessarily need to be based in Philomath. Application does not guarantee acceptance by the artists, but it will make your information available to them to consider when choosing their guests.
If selected, you must be available for planning meetings, fill a volunteer position, help promote the sale, and be present at the sale for the duration of all four sale days, including setup and take down time. All artists pay a $100/year participation fee.
We have limited space for guest artists, who are selected solely at the discretion of the host artists. Host artists may want to meet you and view your work in person prior to making a decision.
