Mixed Media
and Fiber Art
www.FibersOfFaith.com
My multi media fiber art is quite eclectic, usually throbs with
bright
colors, and takes many forms - both 2D and 3D. I might utilize
fabric
printed with my computer, old costume jewelry, hand dyed fabric,
hand
made paper, wool roving, hand marbled fabric, beads, commercial
fabrics - whatever the art piece calls for. The techniques I
incorporate are quite varied because each piece is as unique as
the
art lovers who purchase them. Each creation seems to have a life
of
its own and I attempt to listen to what it has to say to me.
Fiber art allows me to utter
the most private feelings of my soul. In the
piece "I'm Not At This Address!" I give voice to my
grief surrounding my mom's
death. She had Lewy Body Dementia. In the collaged piece "Brooke's
Wisdom" I
am awed by my 6 year old daughter who knows how to soothe her
demented mam-maw's
heart. The pieced creation, "Into the Center" reflects
steps I took
to find peace in the midst of a topsy turvy world. You can find
the more complete
stories of these and other art pieces by going to my web site

As a Board Ordained Chaplain,
I realize the important power of art in
our holistic healing. Art is a lens that magnifies the desires,
frustrations, and fears of our heart. Art gives voice to our spirituality,
hopes, dreams, and concerns. Art is a window through which we
can identify
that which is most important to us. Art challenges us, quiets
us, emboldens
us, and calms us. Art quickens our heart, and gives us strength
to go about
the various tasks in our lives. My hope is that each item I co-create
will
touch the innermost part of someone who drinks in its beauty.
I am honored
to help facilitate such changes in consciousness.
In my business, "*Fibers
Of Faith*" I am committed to utilizing at
least one repurposed item in each art piece. Being a "green"
artist is
one way in which I can bring about holistic healing to our planet,
to
ourselves, and to the generations that follow us.
For the same reason, my art
business "*Fibers Of Faith*" will
contribute a percentage of each sale to a worthy organization
that
helps to make this world a healthier place for all. For a list
of some
of the organizations I have contributed to, visit my web site

Shalom.
