Artist’s Statement
I have been told I have a “romantic attachment to potential”. That statement was relates to my vast collection of found items and objects (meaning a very jumbled and full studio), but also describes the way I incorporate everyday objects into my work. Most of my jewelry involves a focal piece, sculpted from silver art clay, often with pearls or a piece of Holley Blue agate. I use leaves, plants, textiles and other items with unusual surfaces to create texture. By playing with an endless combination of beads, artifacts and other embellishments, I create distinctive, wearable pieces of art.
