Marjorie Kinch works primarily with transparent watercolors because she loves the fluidity and sparkle of the medium. She finds it stirs the celebration of life within, and gives her great satisfaction and joy. Hallmarks of her painting style are the inclusion of dramatic light and the excitement of rich color.
Growing up in Washington State and now living in the Willamette Valley for much of her life has given her an appreciation for the beautiful northwest landscapes and those sunny Oregon days that she likes to capture in vivid watercolor. She is drawn to many subjects, including valley and mountain landscapes, ocean scenes, and florals.

Marjorie is also a professional photographer, always in pursuit of photographs which stand alone or complement her paintings. This allows her to explore light, color, composition and value.

Marjorie’s watercolors have been in shows and galleries throughout the Pacific Northwest. She has paintings in corporate collections throughout the region, and private collections in the U.S. and Europe.

As a former teacher, Marjorie loves to share the delights of watercolor through teaching classes in her studio for both adults and children. She and her husband live and work in Corvallis where they have raised their two daughters.
